The public school system in America as well as the media in most cases, reinforce the illusion of white supremacy, especially during black history month because the biggest focus is always on slavery, white dominance, & the black civil rights struggle. This focus misleads America to believe that is all black people have in history. This teaches racism within the African American race as well as outside the race.
What are you … what are we going to do to help cure the infections of racism & slavery on all people in this country ... Blacks, Whites, etc? Too many schools still teach our children white intellectual superiority and black intellectual inferiority by leaving out the intellectual contributions of other races. Our children still very rarely hear about what black scientist contributed to our everyday safety and comfort on the large scale that it deserves. Black intellectual contributions are still mostly … if not completely left out of everyday public school curriculum even in 2002 ~ 2003. We must change this ASAP.
Too many black people are ashamed of being black, wishing they had white features and many white people wish they had black features. Racism is at an all time high ... thus So is violence... drug abuse … as well as anti-American sentiment (at a time when the threat of war and terrorism is great and our country needs strong soldiers).
What are we really willing to do to bring change and make this a stronger nation?
