Next week, I will be starting my student teaching experience in a 4th grade classroom. It is a K-5 school. I am looking to start a club/afterschool activity/extracurricular that will really engage the children, share a part of myself with the students, and make me stand out as a leader in the classroom and school. I have thought about doing something with animals or the humane society (letter writing???) since I am an animal lover, or a "Chat and Chew" type literature circle since I am a literacy minor. Does anyone have any suggestions?
