I'm 22 and will be going to college for the first time very soon. I helped out a couple of times with a first grade class when I was in high school and I loved it...but now I'm stuck trying to decide whether that's really the career choice for me. My other option would be a Biology - animal care - which I also love. How do I know if I'd like being a teacher? I'm too old to do job shadowing, and I don't think my brief classroom experience gave me enough material to work with for a decision this big. What makes a good first grade teacher? How can I tell if I'll like it?
Thank you,
Victoria

Being a good teacher requires loving what you do. All of us have bad days. At the end of every day, good or bad, teaching is still my passion. I know that I am here to help each child. I can make a difference in the life of every one of my students. If you feel this way, you will be a good teacher.
