If there is one thing that drives you absolutely crazy about dealing with parents, or one thing you'd like to tell them that you know you can't - what would that be? I'm trying to put together an article for our school newsletter, and I want to know whether other teachers share my ideas.

My personal pet peeve is parents who don't stay advised of important class or school activities. These are the parents who invariably wonder why they weren't kept in the loop. What do you think?

At least the parents care enough to be upset about being out of the loop. My parents don't care until the truancy court fines them for their child's skipping!

The one thing that helps me get through dealing with others in general, it that I remind myself that I can not change other people. I have to do what is right by others, students included, do the best that I can. Those parents that do not hold up their end hurt themselves and sometimes the child, the teacher just has to be that much better to pick up the slack.
