Harry Potter teaches kids to become witches. It encourages involvement in the occult that is going to lead many down a dark road. Throughout the Bible occult activities are condemned. Harry Potter books and movies promote what the Bible condemns. This is not fun and games, people. The Bible says Satan pretends to be an angel of light, and that is where "white" witchcraft is from. Witchcraft is a road that will eventually lead to suffering and death; adults should know their Bible and know better, but what of the many innocent children who will become oppressed by demons in subtle and not-so-subtle ways? Don't endanger the souls of children through Harry Potter.

I home tutor six students, and all of them love reading the Harry Potter novels. I encourage this. In my opinion, there is nothing negative about the books. They are fantasy, pure and simple, and quite harmless. Children adore reading them, and any belief that this will result in "involvement in the occult that is going to lead many down a dark road" is ridiculous. Infact this concern has been brought up by many "intellectuals" over the past year and it sounds more ludicrous each time I hear it.

I'm at this stage wondering whether you are joking, Friend.
I hope so.

I disagree with you completely! Harry Potter is a masterpiece, I know many many many kids who read them and I have read all 4 twice! Harry Potter is not evil. It is just a story about a boy living in a different world and his adventures. True witchcraft is very bad, but do the people in harry potter worship the devil NO!!! They are very nice and fight the evil voldemort the don't work with him! have you read the books?

Harry Potter is fantasy, pure and simple, and is completely harmless. To be considered really evil, in a harmful sense, the events in the books would have to be POSSIBLE, and I don't think anyone is going to be able to find a unicorn to drink it's blood or turn someone into a ferret.

We have read all four books to our five year old--she loved them and can't wait for book 5
