Dear Teachers, Educators, Students, and Professors,
My name is Rebecca (Hoppe) Durbin and I am currently a student in Michigan State University’s Online Master of Arts in Education Program. I am writing you all to see if you could possibly help me by participating in some research that I am conducting for an educational research course. The purpose of my research is to examine a variety of current teacher preparation programs and their components in order to find out what components are key in helping teachers feel prepared for the real world classroom. The investigation will look at what components of preparation make teachers feel the most prepared upon entering the classroom, what components were the most beneficial in the first years of teaching, and why these components were effective in preparing teachers for the classroom. Participation only involves completing a short, anonymous survey. I would truly appreciate if you could take the time to participate in the survey. I am generally hoping to focus on student teachers and teachers who have recently entered the field (taught 3 years or less). If you, or others that you know meet these requirements please share this e-mail with them. I am hoping to a get a wide range of participants from programs all around the country, so if you know teachers in other programs please share this e-mail with them as well. It is vital to the success of my research that you share this with any teachers that you know. I would truly appreciate your help in sharing and participating in this study. Thank you so much for your time and help in this matter. The survey will be active at the link below until March 20th, 2005. Please feel free to e-mail me if you have questions about this study or if I can help you in anyway.
