December Traditions

December Traditions - Collaboration Project

This project will allow students to share their family and/or cultural traditions during the December holidays. This project is designed to not require a lot of classroom time to complete. The project will utilize Smilebox - a great, free tool for sharing images on the web which will also allow students and parents to easily leave comments.

Students will create a picture that illustrates one of their December holiday traditions. You will then turn the student pictures into digital images. (Directions and options will be provided.) You will also need to create a free teacher account at Smilebox and download the free software to make a slideshow. (It may take up to two days for your account to be created, so I would create this account as soon as possible.)

Finally, make a slideshow using you students' project images using Smilebox and share the link to the slideshow with the other participating classes by emailing the link to me.

Finally, you can arrange with another classroom to view their slideshow and leave comments. You could do the watching/commenting as an entire class or have each student watch and comment individually.

Are you and your students ready to share their holiday spirit and traditions?
