Red Ribbon Week Displays

Students can celebrate drug awareness with these great "Red Ribbon Week" display ideas. They work on classroom doors and bulletin boards. All of the displays include an image, so click on the smaller images within this page to view the larger display.
"Be a Star! Don't Do Drugs!"
An artistic door that is easy to create with metalic paints.

100% Me!
Using red paint, students make a hand print on white construction paper or tag board. Once dry, they cut out the hand in the shape of a circle. These hand prints, along with a class photo, are then placed on the door. Finally, the following text is written on a piece of chart paper during an Interactive Writing lesson:

I like you!
You like me!
Together we will stay
DRUG FREE!

Students create shoe prints that they can then write their name on.

Students trace both a hand and foot on red construction paper.

"Hand in Hand We Stand - Just Say No! "
Using red and blue poster paints and large pieces of construction paper, students create hand prints and add the title text to the poster.

"Hop Away From Drugs"
Students decorate simple frog shapes and then write why they want to "Hop Away" from drugs. Great if you have a frog theme in your classroom.

Students write their name on teddy bears made using an Elison die cut.

"I Won't Do Drugs Because..."
Using regular white paper, students complete this sentence and draw an illustration to go with their message.

Students finish this sentence with an activity they like to do. They then write that on a large index card and add a picture of themselves doing that activity.

"Life is a Party Without Drugs"
Students write their names on shapes to add to the display. They can also write drug free messages.

"Mrs. ____ Class Leaves Drugs Alone"
This Red Ribbon Week display is great for the fall season as well. Using poster paints, students paint their own leaf and add it to the 3D tree. Twist and turn your brown construction paper for the tree. You can also include small wires within the paper to make the branches come off of the door.

Students use Q-Tips and black construction paper to create skeleton.

Students draw illustration for saying no to drugs. They then draw illustrations for activities they could be doing instead of involving themselves in drugs.

"Under the Sea Says Be Drug Free" & "Fish Want to Squish Drugs"
You can either use enlarged fish and sea life clip
art for students to color and decorate, or you can have them draw and color their own. Either way, you will then want to hang blue paper and decorate it with other ocean items.

Draw and paint the Earth. Students then draw, color and cut out pictures of themselves to paste on and around the Earth.

This is a great display for anyone who lives in the mountains. Students draw themselves doing activities that can be done at higher elevations. (This could easily be adapted to any region.)
